Accounting Specialist I (Payroll Focus)

This role combines payroll ownership with core accounting responsibilities, making it ideal for someone early in their accounting career who wants to build a strong foundation and grow over time. This position is designed to provide strong work-life balance while maintaining meaningful ownership of payroll and growing accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

· Process bi-weekly payroll across multiple locations using iSolved

· Manage employee deductions, benefits, reimbursements, and PTO tracking

· Communicate with employees regarding payroll, benefit and PTO inquiries

· Prepare payroll and general ledger journal entries

· Support month-end close and financial reporting processes

· Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online

· Partner with HR and accounting to ensure data consistency across systems

· Assist with accounting tasks, reporting, and process improvements

Qualifications

· 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll experience or equivalent education

· Basic understanding of accounting principles including GAP and accrual

· Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or payroll systems

· Strong attention to detail and organization

· Ability to handle confidential information

· Strong communication and teamwork skills

· Great sense of humor
